How can I get my tattoo(s) on Strike the Box?

We'd love to add your tattoo on StriketheBox.com. It's free and all that we ask is that you meet these simple requirements.

A. You are an active or retired member of a fire department. It doesn't matter what rank or position you are, as long as you were on a Fire Department.

Examples: Firefighter (career, call, or volunteer), Chief Officer, Training Officer,   Lieutenant, Captain Deputy Chief, Paramedic or EMT on a Fire Dept, Etc.

B. The theme (design) of your tattoo must somehow be connected to the fire service.
If it’s not obvious, please explain the association to us in your email.

C. One exception: Tattoo Artists may submit photos of Firefighter Tattoos they have inked on firefighters. We also welcome you sending in firefighter related flash.

Click here to send us your firefighter tattoo.

Note: If you don't meet the above requirements, I’m sure we could find a spot for your tattoo on one of our other sites. We have web sites for Military Tattoos, Female tattoos, Sports tattoos, Spiritual tattoos, & even a site for really bad tattoos!

2. How do I know you received my tattoo info & photo?

When submitting a tattoo here is how the process goes:

•  You fill out an online form with some info about yourself & your ink. Then you click the button at the bottom “Submit Your Information”. (please, really… please, only press the button once)
•  After that you need to email us your tattoo photo.

•  We will send you an email when your tattoo has been edited & uploaded to the site.

The average time is 2-5 days. That can change depending on the volume of submissions received that week.

4. Can you design my tattoo for me?

No we don't do custom designs; but one of the reasons I created “Strike the Box” was to inspire your imagination. Take a look around the site and get ideas, combine elements of tattoos that you like, and then bring your ideas to a tattoo artist and they should be able to draw it out for you.

(feel free to print out any of the tattoos on the site to show your artist. Just respect our copyright as outlined in our Terms and Conditions for Use. You may also want to check out the site Tattoodles.com.

5. I can't find my tattoo on the site anymore, what happened to it?

As you could imagine, with the sheer volume of images we post, it is near impossible to remember the location of each one. But here are a few tips that may assist you in locating the image.

I've found the best way to locate a specific tattoo is to use our Site Search feature . If that doesn't work keep reading.

Check the complete gallery for the tattoo your trying to find. As we add new tattoos to a gallery each month, we shift the older ones down the page at the end of each month. So a tattoo that was on page 2 could be moved to the top of page 3, etc.

Check other relevant galleries.Once a gallery starts to get overcrowded, we may move some tattoos to other galleries.        For example, we may see a new theme developing and create a gallery for that. Such was the case for the "men of fire" gallery. We noticed a lot of firefighter scenes in our “misc” section so we created a new category and moved the tattoos into there.

Sometimes we just screw up! : ) Occasionally we delete a tattoo by mistake. It doesn't happen often, but I have to admit I do it sometimes. About every three months or so we'll compare the gallery index pages to the tattoos that are on the server to make sure they match up. If there were any tattoos accidentally deleted that is when we will catch it and correct the error. So if you try the other steps above and still can't locate the tattoo, you may see it resurface in a few months.

6. Could you recommend a tattoo artist in my area?

Unfortunately we don't have the time to respond to these requests. May I suggest that you try typing your state into our “site search”? The results should include tattoos artists from that area & if you like the tattoo on that page, well you've found your artist.

You will also want to check out our “Featured Tattoo Artist Gallery” which has some of the most remarkable artists in the world.
