"For my 40th birthday, I decided to commemorate two of the biggest impact on my life in the last few years. One was my promotion to Captain. The other was becoming involved in martial arts. I study, and am now an instructor in Bok Fu Do (the White Tiger System). The Chinese characters represent Pride, Honor and Compassion, which comes from the department's mission statement."
