The artist that did this work is Harry Ake, the owner of Headlight Tattoo in Westville, New Jersey. Most of you probably know why the flag is pictured the way it is on the right arm, but I’ll explain anyway. In the military you are always taught that the field (stars) leads you into battle. Since this is on the right arm, while walking, the flag is shown blowing into the wind."
