These tats belong to Rick Fesperman, Assistant Fire Chief in Salisbury, North Carolina.

"I have served this department for 28 years and I have been the Assistant Chief for 16 years. All my tattoos were done by Lea at the "Lucky Lady" Tattoo Parlor in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Taz firefighter depicts my I D number of Chief 510 on the helmet with the words To Protect and Serve written above. The Taz tattoo is on my right arm and was done in March 2000.

The other tattoo is on my left arm which shows the Maltese Cross with my four bugles in the center piece with fire shooting out the top. I got this tattoo in May 2000. Right below the Maltese Cross is "Crossed Nozzles" that emerging from my body and the liquid that is dripping from the nozzles depicts "Blood, Sweat. And Tears" that all firefighters have shed worldwide and over the course of service to the public. This tattoo was done in November 2000. Right below the crossed nozzles and in the area around the nozzles is the New York skyline with the Statue of Liberty starting on the inter-arm and going around to the two World Trade Center Towers on the backside of my arm. I also have the 9-11-01 date inscribed with the skyline along with 343 around the nozzles to depict and always remember the number of firefighting brothers that gave the ultimate sacrifice on that horrible day in September 2001. These WTC tattoos were done in March 2002."
